Here is a brief history of Revolution's Edge Leax wrote up so that you might get to know us better.

A long time ago, our server, Cazic-Thule, had a calender system to divide up days in the planes and attempts on the two dragons of the time, Lord Nagafen and Lady Vox. In order to schedule a day or two in the planes or a dragon raid, you had to meet certain requirements, such as a certain number of planes capable (level 46+) people, etc. Naturally, there were a lot of small guilds that could not meet these requirements, and, as such, were barred from going to the planes or raiding dragons. In order to remedy this situation, a guy named Talamian, who was at the time the guildleader of a guild called First Defenders, got together with a bunch of other small guilds (Hand of Chaos, The Taken, Clan Axepeak, The Protectorate, Pathfinders, The Elder Conclave, and Darkthorn Conspiracy) to form the Dragon Alliance. This Alliance was made up of small guilds and enabled them to raid in the planes and kill dragons. Well, eventually, the calender system self destructed, but the Alliance did not disband, but rather, stuck around, and continued to grow, and we are still around today. Guilds have come and gone, and at the moment, the guilds we have are First Defenders, Hand of Chaos, Sacred Silver Blades, An Rach, Revolution's Edge, The Protectorate, Pathfinders, Knights of Round Table, and Clan Axepeak. We are led by a council of sorts of guild representitives. Each guild is allowed two guild reps, one main and one alternate. Guild reps have a special private forum where they discuss various leadership-type issues, and, every so often, there is a guild rep meeting on the EverQuest chat server where important issues are brought up, discussed, and voted on.

The Alliance, when it was first formed, also set up a system to distribute loot. We call it EPN (Events Participation Number). Whenever you show up at a raid, and stay for at least 2 hours or until the end of the raid, you earn EPN points. Normal raids are two points, and impetu raids on MoOs (Mobs of Opportunity) will earn you one point. A guild rep at the raid will take attendence, and there is a guild rep assigned with updating the roster, which shows EPN totals (Right now it is Goldana). When a piece of loot drops, anyone who can and will use the loot sends a tell to the person doing loot (usually Goldana or Genkismet). The person doing loot will check the roster to see who has the highest EPN total and who has not looted that day, and that person will be awarded the item (if you have already looted, you may not loot again until everyone of the same class or archtype has looted at least once). When you receieve the item, your EPN total will be lowed a few points, depending on the item.

How does all this pertain to Revolution's Edge? Well, RE was born and bred from the Alliance. A very long time ago, communication between the many guilds of the Alliance was quite difficult in the event of a Corpse Recovery, or if a rare spawn was up, or even between leaders during a raid. In order to try and remedy this, The Alliance formed a guild called Revolution's Edge (It was Leax who actually created it, but he turned over guild leadership to Genkismet). This guild was simply a chat channel for those in the Alliance who wished to take a more active role. Anyone in any Alliance guild over level 46 could guild Revolution's Edge, and everyone was free to come and go between RE and their regular guild as they pleased. As time went on, Revolution's Edge gained a reputation as having most of the higher level characters in the Alliance, as well as being the central leadership guild for raids.

With the introduction of chat channels, the fundamental reason for the existance of Revolution's Edge was bypassed, since communication between multiple guilds was better achived through the new chat channels. Since many people had come to call RE home, we decided it was time to make ourselves a real Alliance guild. And that is how we currently stand. We are an Alliance guild, formed of the Alliance, we still hold the ties that bind us the Alliance, and the Alliance is our first priority. But now that we are our own guild, not an instrument of the Alliance, we can do more in house raids and recruitment.

Here is a brief description of our recruiting process:

First, applicants must find two sponsors prior to submitting an application. Any full member of Revolution’s Edge except for the GM, assistant GMs, and head recruiter may be a sponsor. Your sponsor must get to know you in order to make sure you are right for the guild, and will also be responsible for informing you of the guilds various rules and policies, as well as upcoming events.

Once you have your two sponsors, you can contact the recruiters and request the password for the application form. The application will be reviewed by the guild officers, and the sponsors will be interviewed regarding the applicant. If the application is approved and the interview is favorable, the applicant will be temporarily guilded for a period of one month. At the end of this month, the entire guild will vote on the applicant. If the applicant gets a 75% approval rating, then he or she becomes a full member of the guild.

Applicants may not guild alternate characters until they have become a full member, and they will not be given any passwords to any Alliance channels.

Applicants will be limited to 4 at any time.
